Mr. A.S Mittal, Vice Chairman, Sonalika International Tractors Pvt. Ltd., has been appointed the first chairman of Regional Council of ASSOCHAM. This regional council has been set up to bridge the must skill gap required to harness entrepreneurial spirit of Northern India.

In order to bridge this skill need gap for entrepreneurship, ASSOCHAM shall work closely with State Governments, educational institutions and industries of the region. Recently, ASSOCHAM has opened its first regional office of North India in Chandigarh. Under this council, sector-wise committee has been devised to initiate and encourage collaborative thought process, explore new trends, opportunities & challenges in entrepreneurship and youth empowerment. These committees will work towards creating the required environment for sectors such as Agriculture & Agri-Business, Food Processing, Education & Skill Development, MSME, Health & Pharma, IT & ITES, Infrastructure/ Real Estate, Innovation & IPRs, Banking & Financial Services and Insurance.

Commenting on same, Mr. A.S Mittal, said; “Only by making the environment more conducive for the growth of North India’s industrial capacities, we can enable the industries in this region to be globally competitive. Further, to realize the ‘Make in India’ dream and harness the entrepreneurial demographic richness of the North, bridging skill gap is the only solution. We need to equip our youth with information, requisite skill set and make them industry-ready to deliver quality. An innovative entrepreneurship shall give the required boost to the Make in India initiative.
