Super Special Stage challenged skills of rallyists on Day 2 of 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare

Chitradurga, July 18, 2017: Amidst the landscape with majestic windmills of Doddakittadahalli, the rally further moved to the city limits of Chitradurga for the Super Special Stage (SSS). Proving their mettle on the terrain as well as on the test tracks, Samrat Yadav and co-driver S N Nizami fierced through competitors maintaining their lead on Day 2 of 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare.

Driving in their Maruti Gypsy, they covered the leg in 04:55:04. The other top positions in the Ultimate Cars category saw Team Maruti Suzuki’s dominance. Suresh Rana and co-driver Ashwin Naik in their Grand Vitara covering it in 04:58:13 finished second, followed by Sandeep Sharma with co-driver Karan Arya in their Maruti Gypsy covering the distance in 04:59:50.

Commenting on the tough competition, Samrat said, “The competition seems to get tough and edgy with each day. The Super Special Stage is something that adds further challenges where our driving skills are tested on dedicated tracks. We are managing to maintain a very minute difference between other top competitors and us. With another Special Stage in the offing and exploring legs on new terrains, the competition will only toughen.”

The concept of Super Special Stage was introduced at Dakshin Dare last year. Following the success, there are two stages added in this year’s edition. Along with testing skills of rallyists on the test tracks, the objective is to bring motorsport activities close to city onlookers. The first SSS in the city was spread across 2 kms where the excitement levels of the rallyists only doubled.

T Natraj has stepped up his game leading the rally by covering the required distance in 03:10:41. The Ultimate Bikes category witnessed Abdul Wahid coming a close second covering the distance in 03:11:23; whereas Sanjay Kumar lost his leading position covering the distance in 03:11:30 closing third.

The next leg will begin from Aimangala and further move to Belgaum
