Volkswagen India registers sale of 4792 cars in March 2017

Marking 34% growth over the corresponding month of the previous year, Volkswagen registers sales of 4792 cars in March

Mumbai: Volkswagen, Europe’s leading car manufacturer has announced its monthly sales performance for March 2017, selling 4792 units, constituting a 34% growth as compared to 3570 vehicles sold in the corresponding month of the previous year.

Commenting on the sales numbers, Mr. Thierry Lespiaucq, Managing Director, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd., said, “As we complete the first quarter of 2017, we are elated to announce the consistent growth across initial 3 months of the year. This growth is a testimony to the trust and confidence that our customers place in key Volkswagen attributes of meticulously engineered vehicles that ensure best-in-class safety, strong build quality and enhanced driving dynamics. We remain confident of this upward growth trend with a strong product portfolio planned for the year.”

In March, Volkswagen announced the start of production for the Tiguan from the Aurangabad Plant. With Tiguan, Volkswagen will foray into the competitive SUV segment in India. Built on the MQB (modular transverse matrix) platform, the Tiguan is the best-selling SUV in its class, globally, that will reach, Indian market shortly.
