Chevrolet recognizes budding filmmaker from Rajasthan at MOFILM Cannes Awards

The film ‘RJ’ will be used by Chevrolet on Mobile and Digital platform

Chevrolet has recognized a budding filmmaker from Rajasthan at MOFILM Cannes Awards. Chevrolet selected five winning films and now owns digital rights of the films. The film ‘RJ’ will be used by Chevrolet on Mobile and Digital platform.

MOFILM Cannes Video Contest is a part of the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. The associated brands including Chevrolet developed a brief and the filmmakers submitted the completed film. The filmmakers recruited by MOFILM were given a standard global brief by Chevrolet for the films. The participants were asked to tell a story about someone that demonstrates the spirit of ‘Find New Roads’.

“The Chevrolet family recognizes the hard-work and creativity of the winner. With his seventh Mo Film entry, he has found the road to success and we are thrilled to recognize him for a wonderful piece of film. We are proud to announce that the film will now be a part of Chevrolet’s digital and mobile promotion,” said, Jack Uppal, Vice President, Marketing & Customer Experience, General Motors India. 

The winner has received $8,000 in prize money and a trip to the prestigious awards ceremony in Cannes where he was presented the award by Timothy Mahoney, Chief Marketing Officer, Global Chevrolet. The winner, Deepanshu Malik hails from Rawatbhata, a small town in Rajasthan. Deepanshu says, ”The brief from Chevrolet, based on the theme of Finding New Roads, comprised of two important philosophies; one to keep going, no matter what, and second to be inventive, something which is extremely relevant for every human life. I concentrated on both the philosophical pillars while writing the film, and we mounted the entire structure of the film, including music, lyrics, shooting style, and performances in the same peripheral.”

Chevrolet believes in finding new roads – a belief that ingenuity is what enables people to make the most of life’s possibilities. More than just a tagline, it’s a rallying cry for achieving success and a prescription for finding meaning in life.
