Yokohama India Organises Community Cleaning at Gurgaon

Yokohama India, pursuing its support for Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan, organised the first Community cleaning initiative at Gurgaon. This initiative also is in sync with Yokohama Global’s initiative of taking the month of June as Environmental Month

With 50 people working towards creating awareness about community cleaning this activity was held behind DLF building No.5, cyber city Gurgaon, the employees both Japanese & Indian took towards cleaning the area with enthusiasm. This was aligned with UN’s Global Environmental Day. Employees of Cannon India also joined the activity and participated with equal zeal.

President & Director, of Yokohama  in India Mr Satoshi Fujitsu, who also participated in the activity, said “We hope that we are able to enthuse and inform more people about community cleaning. This is a very important initiative and all should take some time out of their busy lives to keeping the community clean”

Yokohama recently, as part of its global “Forever Forest” project to plant 500,000 trees by 2017 on the 100 year anniversary of the company, organised the planting of more than 2000 trees at its factory at the HSIIDC Industrial Estate, Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar in Haryana. The Japanese Tyre Major plans to plant 12100 trees in the next 7 years up to 2023. The intention in the future is to donate the plants to the community.
