SmartShift by Mahindra, a digital aggregator for cargo transport, felicitates its transporters

Flags off its bi-annual ‘Smart Parivar Sammelan’ to recognise outperformance

January 20, 2017, Mumbai: SmartShift, the digital mobility start up from the US$ 17.8 billion Mahindra group, recently felicitated transporters at its first ‘Smart Parivar Sammelan’. A platform to recognise and reward small commercial vehicle owners and transporters for their exemplary performance, the ‘Smart Parivar Sammelan’ was held in both Mumbai and Hyderabad and witnessed participation from over 1,000 transporters.

Speaking on the initiative, Kausalya Nandakumar, CEO, SmartShift said, “The business of last-mile cargo transportation relies heavily on positively harnessing the motivations of transporters. Our experience exposed us to a strong latent need for recognising the transporters on a public platform. It is with this objective that the Smart Parivar Sammelan was designed, to recognise outperformance and build our relationships beyond just business. The Sammelan gives a red-carpet welcome to our best transporters and their families, creating a memorable experience for them. They are also encouraged to share their SmartShift experience, to successfully build an influencer marketing group within this closely knit network of transporters.”

The awards were divided into several categories, which add up to becoming an ideal SmartShifter on the platform. For example, The Ever Ready SmartShifter awards were conferred upon transporters who displayed the least response time in bidding and accepting jobs. All the winning transporters were felicitated with trophies and most importantly, were provided with a platform to share their experiences with fellow operators. Smart Parivar Sammelan is a SmartShift biannual property, geared towards “celebrating the step of entrepreneurship”. It is also a manifestation of the company’s purpose of “driving positive change” in the lives of its stakeholders and enabling them to Rise. This event has also been designed to showcase testimonials from leading transporters and thereby inspire the overall community to deliver excellent work performance and behaviour.

The Smart Parivar Sammelan was held in association with the Mahindra Automotive business. Mahindra commercial vehicle dealers displayed their new models and briefed transporters on the vehicles that were most suited for their business requirements. This helped create a veritable synergy for the Mahindra brand, as well as enlightened transporters on the latest offerings in the transport business.
