Ford India Sells 14,259 Vehicles in January 2017

  • Continues steady growth with domestic wholesales at 7,995 vehicles and exports at 6,264 vehicles
  • Introduced technology and feature rich  ‘Platinum Edition’ of compact SUV Ford EcoSport in January
  • Launched a new advertising campaign aimed at challenging myths & breaking stereotypes around Ford’s high cost of service

NEW DELHI, Feb. 2, 2017Ford India continued its growth momentum in January with a steady rise in combined domestic wholesales and exports to 14,259 vehicles, up from 12,834 units in the same month a year ago.

January Domestic wholesales grew to 7,995 vehicles against 7,045 units in the same month last year, while exports grew to 6,264 vehicles from 5,789 units in January 2016.

“We continue to grow faster than the industry which is a testament to our strategy focused on product led innovation, delivering differentiated customer experience and busting the myth of Cost of Ownership,” said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India.  

“The industry continues to face short-term headwinds even as long-term outlook continues to be positive. The outlook is further strengthened by the government’s roadmap to boost rural economy, provide relief to personal income tax, and investment in further building the infrastructure. A timely implementation of GST is expected to make a significant positive impact on the economy while raising consumer sentiment in the months to come.” Mehrotra added.

Continuing on its promise to bring products that Indian customers want and value, Ford introduced a technology & feature rich ‘Platinum Edition’ of its capable compact SUV Ford EcoSport. Platinum Edition features a host of interior and exterior changes to increase the compact SUVs impressive stance and enhance customer convenience. New features include Cruise control, an all-new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, satellite navigation, reverse parking camera, dual tone exteriors and larger 17-inch tyres with new alloys among others.

During the month, Ford India started a campaign, challenging some common misconceptions around Ford cars’ cost of ownership. The campaign showcases Ford products’ unmatched value of ownership as surprisingly affordable, with the fifth-year cost of service for Ford EcoSport at INR 3,662*. Committed to elevating the ownership experience for customers, Ford India also extended its sales and service network with the inauguration of its new dealerships Arun Ford in Nagpur and Suryabala Ford in Coimbatore and Pollachi.
