Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2016 Commences With Media Preview

~ More than 30 manufacturers showcase a slew of exciting products ~

The Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2016, kicked off today at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida projecting a positive outlook for the industry. More than 30 upbeat manufacturers showcased a strong product portfolio for the coming year which will not only set the tone for FY 14, but will also provide stimulus for a promising year ahead.

The day was marked by the unveiling and launches of products across verticals and segments alike. This edition of the show is slated to host 92 unveilings and launches of which 51 was showcased today.

The passenger car segment which has witnessed healthy growth in the ongoing fiscal saw major launches. Maruti Suzuki unveiled their Vitara Brezza which is scheduled for a launch in the upcoming weeks. General Motors announced Chevrolet Essentia and Chevrolet Beat Activ for India. Hyundai unveiled their much awaited Tucson and showcased Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo. Isuzu India launched India’s first “Adventure Utility Vehicle” Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross. Tata Motors, and Jaguar Land Rover too showcased their products to the media. Volkswagen unveiled their new compact sedan Ameo which is a made-for-India product. They also unveiled the Volkswagen Tiguan, Volkswagen Passat GTE and the 21st Century Beetle. Renault Kwid 1.0 Litre was also launched at the Auto Expo. Honda Cars India limited unveiled the BR-V for the first time in India while Mercedes Benz launched at the much-awaited SUV GLC and the S-Class Carbiolet.

The second half of the day saw one of the most anticipated launches included Jeep, which makes its India debut. Mahindra and Mahindra showcased its global two wheeler prowess. Eicher Trucks and Buses launched Eicher Live. Force Motors showcased the smart mobility solutions in the form of Force Traveller. Ashok Leyland unveiled four next generation Technology products in the form of Hybus, Guru, and sunshine. Datsun unveiled its concept car Go-cross while Nissan launched its limited edition Micra Active and Terrano. The anticipated Innova ‘Crysta’ was unveiled by Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. Luxury car makers Audi and BMW too showcased their cars to the audience. BMW unveiled the all new 7-series and X1.

The two-wheeler segment saw unveilings from UM Motorcycles, DSK Benelli, TVS and Suzuki Motorcycles. Hero Motocorp unveiled technology and innovation-driven new product strategy. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India saw six new models being unveiled in the show which are scheduled for their India launch.

Virat Kohli, Alia Bhatt, Zaheer Khan and Mohinder Amarnath were the known faces at the Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2016. Earlier in the day Karan Singh Grover, Amit Trivedi, Karun Chandhok, Shubha Mudgal, A R Rehman, Sachin Tendulkar, Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor8 also graced the occasion.

Day two will witness the official inauguration of one of country’s largest exposition by the Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Minister, Mr. Anant Gangaram Geete and Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari amongst other dignitaries.
